Excellent Perm Opportunity - PHP Developer, Leeds (Centre)

Are you looking for a new opportunity?

I am currently recruiting for a PHP Developer to join a well-established and highly respected organisation based in Leeds. My client are working on some exciting web and mobile (Games) development projects using modern technologies.

You will deliver rich internet applications (RIA), primarily using open source technologies and products in a LAMP environment, so ideally you’ll have prior experience in designing and developing commercial web sites using object orientated PHP and MySQL.

You will work with the Software Architect and Senior Software Engineers to ensure that software solutions are fit for purpose, cost effective, and are delivered on schedule and to specification.

You will work with external software vendors under the supervision of the Software Architect or a Senior Software Engineer to ensure their products are well-defined and fit for purpose.

Essential Qualifications

Relevant first degree or equivalent in Computing or related subject or equivalent degree
At least 1 years of relevant commercial development experience
Technical skills

Commercial experience of designing and developing web solutions using open source technologies, including Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, XML, XSLT, CSS, XHTML, Javascript Frameworks.
Experience of Web Services (Rest/SOAP).
Commercial experience of a range of platforms including RDBMS, MySQL, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, JVM, Unix/Linux, Windows etc.
Knowledge of RDBMS design and performance optimisation.
Knowledge of internet and networking technologies and protocols, i.e. IP, TCP, HTTP.
Exposure to the delivery of internet applications in a multi-channel environment, i.e. Web, WAP, widgets, apps (iPhone, Android)
