Junior PHP mySQL Web Developer, Leicester
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled PHP/mySQL web developer to join and make an instant contribution to the web development department for a leading internet and mobile agency in the Midlands. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn and improve, as well as good technical skills.
The job will involve developing PHP applications on a LAMP stack for a wide range of clients. The job will require you to work with both designers and mobile developers to ensure every project lives up to the high standards that we pride ourselves on. We work with a wide ranges of technologies, web services and APIs, including Facebook, Google, various CMS's and jQuery.
During your work you will receive any additional training and assistance you need from our senior developers to ensure you are continually improving as a web developer.
Required Skills

PHP5 – Candidate should have a strong working knowledge of PHP 5
MySQL
Strong communication skills
Willingness to learn and develop
Bonus Skills

Knowledge of OOP and related design patterns – however, this is something we can help you develop
XHTML/HTML 5 knowledge
Experience working with Javascript and jQuery
Experience using AJAX.
Social App Development - Experience in building social sites or apps (Facebook, etc.)
Knowledge of RESTful web services

The ideal candidate will have written a number of PHP applications, however commercial experience is not essential. Candidates will be expected to be able to demonstrate their skills through a portfolio of previously written applications.
