My client is one of the biggest names in their domain, providing a range of web and Internet based services to some of the biggest and most widely recognised organisations in the UK and Europe. They have ridden out the last 18 months with little or no impact on their business and therefore find themselves in the envious position of being able to push on and build up their client driven software development teams.
The role will find you responsible for the design, architecture and development of a brand new range of products, developing and maintaining the existing product offerings, reevaluate current documentation processes and the further championing of a fully Agile / TDD (Scrum) development lifecycle.
You should have strong communications skills with the ability to design fault tolerant code for transactional based e-commerce / online web-based systems. Technical skills should include the following; PHP 5, Cake and or Zend & CodeIgnitor, MySQL, strong SQL, Design Patterns (Model View Controller), Agile (Scrum / TDD), continuous build, source code controls (Hudson, Subversion), JavaScript, AJAX, Content Management Systems such as Drupal, Wordpress, Joomla and an understanding of Internet based protocols (HTTP, FTP, DNS, WHOIS).
