PHP Developer – London - Price Comparison Site, London
PHP Developer required urgently in London by a rapidly growing price comparison site. The role would suit an experienced PHP developer who is looking for an opportunity to contribute ideas, define technical architectures and shape the future success of an exciting new website. The role will combine the usual challenges of a high-transactional eCommerce website, along with the additional challenge of manipulating huge amounts of data from various feeds. The technical environment will focus on PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, MySQL and Linux, along with opportunities to gain exposure to Memcached and MongoDB. You will be joining a small Agile/SCRUM team of 5 developers, with opportunities to take a technical leadership role and mentor a junior developer. The successful candidate will be an experienced PHP Developer who has worked on the entire stack from front-end, through middle-tier to back-end, with strong skills in PHP, MySQL and JavaScript. Knowledge of Ajax, jQuery, MVC frameworks, Linux, SVN or Agile/SCRUM methodologies would be highly desirable. Candidates with a background working on high-traffic websites such as eCommerce, aggregators, price comparison, online gaming or other sites which are transactional in nature, or involve dealing with manipulating data from various feeds would be at an advantage. An awareness of Memcached, MongoDB or iPhone/iPad apps development would be a bonus.
