Biduhappy.com is a well funded start-up business bringing a exciting new on-line auction retail environment to the UK.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the Biduhappy.com PHP Guru will be responsible for providing in-house software development resources to internal and external customers. This role involves the delivery of tested, stable and secure software that provides an excellent, innovative user experience.
As Biduhappy.com is a brand-new business, the successful candidate will be highly flexible, enthusiastic and committed to the business idea. He/she will be expected to make a large contribution to the successful progression of Biduhappy.com and its future growth as a marketplace.
The PHP Developer will be expected to:
* Be expert with all aspects of the Biduhappy.com concept and site functionality.
* Work with a dedicated, goal-driven core team
* Think outside the box
The optimal skill set of the successful candidate is :-
* 2 to 3 years experience of full lifecycle development
* Demonstrable skill with PHP and external libraries like JQuery, PHPUnit, Memcached, PHPMailer
* Exposure to web based development frameworks (like Symfony, CakePHP)
* Experience of Test driven development
* Experience integrating with internal and external API's
* Strong HTML, Javascript, CSS, XML, AJAX skills
* Strong MySQL experience
* Familiarity with version control systems (such as Subversion, Bazaar or Git)
* A can-do attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to help a start-up company succeed
The ideal candidate will live in the Edinburgh area but we are open to teleworking for candidates with the right experience and vision.
Salary is also negotiable.
